“don’t take my Kodachrome away”

June 25, 2009

The digital era has finally taken it’s toll on the infamous little yellow box of Kodachrome loved by so many since the 1950’s. Sales are now barely 1% of Kodak’s offerings and only one lab in the country, Dwayne’s Photo in Kansas will process the film thru 2010.

A website gallery of iconic images has been compiled by Kodak including McCurry’s Afghan girl.

Hot Seniors with Kari Blunck

June 14, 2009

SPPA held it’s first CAMERA ROAD SHOW hosted by Kari Blunck of Studio K in Olympia. We were invited to her portrait park where she  shared her lighting and posing techniques with SPPA members. On hand were Dani, Alice, Chris, Ken & Vicki, Barbara, Steve, Gail Ann, Kerri and Russ.  We had a great time watching Kari work her magic…she even showed us how to set a basketball on fire!  Take a peek.
